Founder's Story
When my gynae confirmed I was pregnant, I was overjoyed. As my body transformed to nurture my growing baby, I was not prepared for the mental load of juggling work, obsessively doomscrolling on what to eat, what to pack and what to expect. Not to mention, the appointments, supplements, and endless to-do lists. It was all so overwhelming.
At 38 weeks, I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and told to be admitted immediately. I begged for an hour to pack my hospital bag but despite the countless checklists I have saved, I realised that I had prepared everything for my baby but not for myself. Amidst the chaos, I grabbed what I could remember but I was still unprepared and emotionally unready.
When it came to gifting, friends and family would often default to the baby-focused items which were readily available everywhere. I had done the same myself, picking adorable things for my little one and overlooking my own needs. Shopping for myself felt exhausting and secondary… almost indulgent.
And then it struck me. What about me? I had gone through a rebirth too.
As I spoke with other mothers who felt the same, who wished there was one place to find the things they truly needed, I began to notice a common theme. Many of us felt the attention shift away from us after giving birth. We were craving something simple: to be seen, to be celebrated, and to be supported.
That’s how NUEBORN was born, with a simple belief that mothers deserve all the love and care, just as much as the little ones they bring into the world.
